Vivian Fernandes, better known by his stage name Divine, is one of the most influential rappers in India. His journey from the gullies of Mumbai to international stages is nothing short of inspiring.

Growing up in a tough neighborhood, Divine found his escape in music. Influenced by American rap, he started writing his own rhymes in Hindi, capturing the struggles of everyday life in Mumbai’s chawls and streets. His breakout track, "Mere Gully Mein" (featuring

Naezy), became a street anthem and introduced millions to Indian rap.

What set Divine apart was his authenticity. He didn’t copy western rappers—he told his own story in his own language. Songs like "Jungli Sher" and "Kohinoor" spoke about ambition, poverty, and the hustle of the city.

In 2019, Bollywood’s Gully Boy was inspired by Divine and Naezy’s journeys, pushing him into the mainstream spotlight. But instead of stopping there, Divine used his success to uplift others. He launched Gully Gang Entertainment, giving a platform to emerging rappers.

Today, Divine is more than just an artist—he’s a leader of the Indian hip-hop movement. His rise shows how powerful music can be when it’s rooted in truth and passion.
